When I first started DTS, I had no idea what was going to happen with God and how it would happen. My spiritual life was good, but not great. I was prayed for by a spiritual mentor for my mother in-law and was told that I needed to go to DTS. God wanted to show me new things. I was reluctant to go at first, but soon agreed to go with my wife. Each day was very educational spiritually. The more I went, the more I was eager and hungry to learn more about God's word. I never realize how powerful the word of God is. I guess, if you don’t understand God then you can’t really understand the word. Each speaker was amazing in delivering God's message to us. One that stood out was missionary Kim. He served in Haiti and was challenging us to go to Haiti. At first I thought, no way. But as class continued over the next few weeks, we had to pick an outreach location. Surprisingly, it ended up being Haiti. My deepest fear was that Haiti was the most dangerous and unknown. With prayer and fellowship our team prepared for the trip.

Another miracle to me was that our team had to learn two body worship songs and a redeemer skit in less then a month. It seemed impossible, but we all learned it well. The experience of donating and getting donations was fulfilling in blessings. Friends and family were eager to give. That was an amazing event. The most important message for us all was that we had to prepare our hearts and our spirits to God’s plan. The trip to Haiti was very scary but then it became a blessing to God’s works. Every day we would meet new people and show body worship to the people of Haiti and they would be blessed. We soon went to orphanages and saw orphans. We helped them eat and gave them gifts. It was an amazing time of blessings for all. Regardless of Haitian politics and the danger of protests, God shielded us from such danger. The Haitians trip was a witness to God that taught us how to see the world and it’s pain. Regardless of our differences in our group we became one in the spirit and shared God’s love to everyone that we encountered. As the trip came to an end we thanked missionary Kim and his family for all the hospitality and loving hearts.

My experience in DTS was fruitful and blessed. I have learned new things such as community, faith, and desire to do more. I learn to have more compassion for others. To love others that I hate through God”s love. I have learned and seen things that I thought could never happen in my life. My faith has a hunger that needs to be fed to the word.I want to become a follower of Christ to change the world. I want God to use me in whatever manner to bring peace and salvation to the world. God has shown me my true identity and my purpose to help others and glorify God. I pray that I may become a part of God's plan and bring love and salvation to the world. May the Lord bless you and keep you may his face shine upon you the Lord is gracious to you. May the Lord bless you and keep you may his face shine upon you the Lord be gracious to you, Amen.
